How To Be Saved

Salvation is NEEDED by all

• The Fact of Sin

...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.   Romans 3:23  

• The Consequences of Sin

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.   Romans 6:23

Salvation has been PROVIDED for all

• Salvation has been provided through the gift of God's Son, Jesus Christ.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.   John 3:16

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.   Romans 5:8

Salvation must be ACCEPTED by each individual

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.   John 1:12

• Repentance is required (you must turn from your sin)

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.   Acts 3:19

•  Faith is necessary (you must depend on God alone)

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.   Ephesians 2:8-9

What Must I Do? 

Confess (agree with God), Believe (trust God), Call (pray to God)

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  Romans 10:9

For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  Romans 10:13

Perhaps this prayer expresses the desire of your heart?  You can use this prayer or tell God in your own words your need for salvation and your willingness to repent and place faith in Christ alone. 

Dear God, I confess that I am a sinner.  I agree with the teachings of the Bible that I have sinned against the Holy God.  I believe that You love me and sent Jesus to die on the cross for my sins.  I confess that Jesus is Lord and I believe He has been raised from the dead.  I now turn from my sins in repentance and place full faith in Jesus alone to save me.  Please forgive me of my sins.  I invite Jesus into my life as my Lord and I trust Him as my Savior.  I pray this prayer in the Name (authority) of Jesus Christ.  Amen
